LLAMEN A SCOTIA BANK Y PREGUNTEN!
Aqui un Post del lado ingles IIF:
I got an email back from Scotia bank head office (in Canada) today and it reads like this :
Dear Mr. *******,
We welcome the opportunity to address your inquiry in connection with purchasing Iraqi Dinars.
Mr. ********, as we order this through the Bank of America, it is dependant on whether it is available or not through them.
We trust we have handled your inquiry today to your satisfaction.
Mr. *********, you may also be interested to learn that Scotiabank offers the Tax Free Savings Account. With this plan, currently there are no monthly account fees. In addition, there are no fees to keep cash in the account or to establish or maintain GIC investments in this plan. Standard management expense ratios for Scotia Mutual Funds apply. Specific details of the MERs can be found on the following webpage:
blah blah blah.........
My original email to Scotia :
Comments: Hi. Im a repeat customer to a Scotia Bank branch in *********, ONT. I have been purchaseing Iraqi dinars through the branch for a couple of years. I called the branch to get more Dinars and they said "we no longer carry Iraqi dinars". I even had them call the foriegn currency dept. where they were getting them from and got told they no longer will be getting them.
My question is why???? Is there a problem with them or an in-country exchange expected? I need an answer othere than we just don't carry them anymore because it is quit strange that a bank will no longer deal with a currency??
Thank you

As expected the reply I got from Scotia was super generalized. They didn't really answer my questions......Just that they are still buying through BofA and depends soely on wether or not they are dealing with them.......Which I (we) already knew.
Didn't think I would get any real info. but I thought I would relay the message to others involved with the dinars.
I will continue to post on Scotia bank if I can get any more info.
