I went to the site three times and every time it says 1 USD = 18.544 VND. This is the official bank site for Vietnam. Divide 1 by 18.544 and you get 5 cents as the RV which would be in line with the expectations of between one cent and eight cents. I believe it just might be right --- no forex open until tomorrow afternoon -- and this is an official bank site.

Gracias Aperez. Si esto se confirma .05 centavos de aumento serían buenísimos, pues dejaría una ganancia de $50,000 por cada millón de Dongs que nos costaron $120. Lo que habría que corroborar es, primero, que otros sitios de Forex presenten la misma info y, segundo, si esa fórmula que se menciona está correcta. Yo no se a cuánto está el Dong en estos momentos para compararlo con lo que dice el sitio de intercambio y ver cuál sería realmente la diferencia del aumento traducida a una fórmula en dólares. Personalmente no se cómo funcionaría ; si hay alguien que pueda verificar esa fórmula e informarnos, lo agradeceremos.

Ahora, mi duda es que si se usa la fórmula que copió Aperez y divido $1 entre 18.970, lo que da es .00005 y al rodar el punto eso no equivale a cinco centavos, sino a una fracción de menos de un centavo = 00.005

Obviamente este website tiene una info incorrecta sobre el valor del Dong al compararla con otros websites de "currency converters". Así que les escribí un mensaje a "Contact Us" a ver qué me responden. Si lo hacen les traeré la respuesta. El mensaje fue el siguiente:

Acabo de entrar nuevamente a www.worldtravels.com (http://www.worldtravels.com) y sigue saliendo el dong con el error, o sea 1 vnd = .05

Les escibí preguntandoles si era que el dong lo habían revaluado. Veremos que contestan al darse cuenta del error.
Pero... que empeño de estos sitios de animarnos para luego dejarnos caer. Ya nos había pasado hace unos meses cuando el dinar llegó a aparecer a $1.49 en varios converters de Europa y luego resultó que era un error..

UN treasury has Dong blank for June 1st

El uso del punto en vez de la coma para separar cifras es muy comun en Asia, Europa y otros paises. Asi que lo que para ellos es 18.170 para nosotros es 18,170. Cosas veredes. Pero nada, mi gente, paciencia que esto llega.:clapping:

Bueno se que son rumores y respeto eso, pero porque siempre tienen que ser los 15 o 30 de cada mes, sorry eso es lo que me preguntaba y que quede claro no estoy en contra de los rumores ni nada x el estilo, pero siempre es lo mismo, antes con el dinar y ahorra con el dong.

Y la confusión no ha sido porque se haya interpretado incorrectamente, por un error visual, un punto donde debía haber una coma según los que conocen del tema. La confusión ha surgido porque en realidad aparece un punto donde ustedes indican que debería ser una coma. Y no me refiero a la coma que mencionas después del 18, sino al punto que realmente aparece en un convertidor cuando dicen 1vnd=.05 Ya entendí que debe ser un error porque en otros convertidores sigue apareciendo como .00005, pero ello no quiere decir que no apareció así , lo que creó la confusión en muchas personas, incluyéndome, y no sólo en este foro sino en todos los demás.

De todas maneras, y para aprender , me gustaría que me expliques cuál es el significado de la coma vs. el punto en los convertidores de monedas y Wall Street, donde se reflejan las ganancias o perdidas, como, por ej, + 3,8%. Y por favor, tengannos un poco de paciencia a los que estamos "perdidos" en este tema porque no lo conocemos. Cada día que pasa aprendo algo nuevo en este foro con la ayuda de los que conocen más de los dif. temas. Gracias amigo porque siempre has estado disponible para ayudarnos, por eso siempre te he distinguido y considerado uno de nuestros mejores foristas.

Saludos AIXA y todos los demás compañeros. Al parecer este asunto del punto/coma ha traido algo de confusión y ya que AIXA me pregunta, pues voy a tratar de aclararlo. Antes, deben saber que con sólo hacer un "google search" encuentran la respuesta.:mmm:

Primero, hay que tener en cuenta quién está escribiendo los números. Todo es cuestión de costumbre e interpretación. En Europa, es común decir: 27,7 para referirse a lo que nosotros escribimos 27.7 ó 27,700.
También hemos visto que dependiendo del noticiario, en la bolsa de valores dirían: subió 2,7 puntos y otros dirían 2.7 puntos.

No veo una regla fija, por lo tanto hay que contar con la intuición, hacer comparaciones y no aceptar el primer número que se vea.
En el ejemplo del valor a .05, fíjense que otros convertidores dicen .00005 y otros 5e-5. Si vas al site del Banco de Vietnam, el "exchage rate" está a
18,544VND por USD. 1/18544= .00005 = 5e-5
Haciendo ese pequeño cómputo y un ejercicio de comparación puedo darme cuenta que el .05 es incorrecto.

Gracias Jorofu por la aclaración. Hasta Frank26 está confundido con lo del punto y coma, según leí en su post de hoy, 31 mayo, cuando habla del Dong y lo que salió en algunos convertidores.
